Hey folks.... Stay tuned this week to the Straight Arrow Foundation web site for updates for this years event. The event will be held on May 14th. You can register on this site by printing off the registration form and sending it to the address provided on the form. You may also sign up the day of the shoot. Handouts will be available at all local sporting good stores in their archery departments.

Friday's Pro Am Times

Those of you that have been contacted and have confirmed that you are in the Pro Am that is being held on Friday the 20th need to be ready to go out to the course no later that 9 a.m. We will have lunch following the morning round. We have 100 shooters shooting that morning. Our guest will include Law Enforcement civilians, military civilians and firefighter. We salute all of these service folks and appreciate all that they do.

With just 10 days to go you can still sign up on line via this web site. We will close the registration for the site on Thursday the 20th. When you arrive at the site on Saturday morning you will also be able to register. If you have registered on line we will have a list showing that. We will also have a list of the people who signed up on line and went to pay pal to pay. Please try to have your Pay Pal receipt to confirm that you paid on line. The Pay Pal file that we have from Pay Pal is the only verification we have that you paid or did not pay. Thanks

All things are coming together for this years event. We are expecting a huge crowd to be in the North Louisiana area for the weekend. Be sure to make plans to visit the novelty shoot area for some fun shots made available by the Bayou State Bowhunter Organization. The ole standing "spinning" bear will be there to test your skills. Also see the Known Distance range located on the "B" range. Prizes will be awarded in 2 different categories.

Possible ASA State Qualifier

Hey Folks... been talking with the ASA and our state people with the ASA and the Shoot For Our Troops tournament this year may be used as a ASA State Qualifier event. This is another way to get into the ASA Classic for 2010 that is also held at the West Monroe site. Stay tuned for more information. New registration forms went out today to the Louisiana sporting goods stores. The new registration sheet shows the new start time formats. Bring your own group and have some fun. Registration will also be on site the morning of the event.
New Archery Park

During this years Shoot For Our Troops you will have the opportunity to view the new archery park located on the same grounds of the Ouachita Parish Sheriffs Training Center. This new park is under construction with the kids 11 target range including a 70 yard above ground boardwalk being completed this week. The park will also contain 10 target handicap accessible lanes that will be 6 foot wide, 10 to 50 yards long and concreted, 30 permanent walk through bag target stations, a NASP/NFAA 80 yard field range and a 25 foot platform to shoot from an elevated position. The first week of every month the park will place 20 to 25 3D targets out for shooting. All of the walk paths within the facility will be graveled, bridges are being constructed over the wet areas and rest areas with water stations are located along the trails. This facility will be one that the south will be proud of. This facility will also be used for NASP events, kid's archery clinics and camps as well as daily usage from the public.
Known Distance Course At Shoot For Our Troops

During the two day shoot we will be putting up a 15 target known distance course that will reside on the "B" course we used last year. You will have the opportunity both days to shoot the course as many times that you like. There will be a $10.00 fee to shoot the course. We will be awarding some nice prizes from Scott Archery. Be sure to check it out while your here.
